Circuit house helper in Parwanoo dies by suicide

No suicide note was recovered from the spot

Jagdish Chauhan (31), a helper deputed at the Public Works Department’s circuit house in Parwanoo, died by suicide in his room this morning.

A police team visited the spot on receipt of information and found Chauhan’s body hanging from the fan. He was a resident of Dharda village in Kasauli. The police inspected the body in the presence of his family members. No suicide note was recovered from the spot, said Solan SP Gaurav Singh.

The body was taken to ESI Hospital, Parwanoo, for post mortem. The statements of the deceased’s relatives and others present on the spot were recorded by the police.

The deceased was married, but was reportedly in a relationship with a woman who was known to his relatives. Inquest proceedings are underway.
