Monitor tree committee’s working

An uprooted tree, which fell on a car near Tolland killing a 30-year-old man yesterday, points towards the carelessness of the tree committee responsible for recommending axing of dry and endangered trees. The tree committee is allowing felling of trees at its whims and trees posing a threat are not cut. The functioning of the working committee should be monitored closely and spot inspection of all trees for which applications are pending should be done immediately. – Vikrant, Shimla
