Villagers demand construction of bridge

Residents of Drob village at Daler panchayat in Ladbhadol area of Mandi district are demanding that a bridge should be constructed to connect the village to the road. In the absence of the bridge, the villagers have to cross a rivulet or walk for 2km to reach the road via an alternate path. The panchayat should take up the matter with the state government to get funds for the construction of the bridge, as it is causing a huge inconvenience to the villagers. — Uday Singh, Drob village

Iron grills thrown on road

The PWD has thrown iron grills at the Nadaun Chowk. These grills lying on the roadside are causing traffic jams and pose a threat to the pedestrians and passing vehicles, especially during the dark. The grills were thrown about a week ago, but no one has come to fix them. The PWD should either remove the grills from the roadside or fix them to provide a safe passage to the vehicles and the pedestrians. — Raman Kumar, Hamirpur
