Mandi, August 1
A comprehensive cleanliness drive has been initiated in Jogindernagar subdivision to combat water-borne diseases and promote awareness about their prevention.
The Jogindernagar SDM, Manish Chaudhary, said this initiative, coordinated by the BDO offices of Chauntra and Drang, aimed to clean natural drinking water sources and educate residents on disease prevention.
The drive involves thorough cleaning of natural water sources at the panchayat and village levels, with active participation from the local panchayat representatives, mahila and yuvak mandals.
Following the outbreak of water-borne diseases in the subdivision, all panchayati raj institutions have been instructed to monitor the quality of drinking water sources.
The SDM assured that the Jal Shakti Department was regularly monitoring the water supply and ensuring the chlorination of all water storage facilities. — TNS
