Clear dues of contractors before April 30, CM tells Finance Department

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today instructed the Finance Department to clear all pending dues of contractors of the Public Works and Jal Shakti departments before April 30.

Sukhu, while presiding over a meeting of the Finance Department here, said that the first installment of the pending liabilities would be disbursed before April 28 and the remaining by April 30. He directed both departments to speedily prepare bills and submit these timely to the treasury for payment.

He also instructed the PWD and Jal Shakti Department officers to present their department’s bills after the 10th of every month as the state receives its share of Central taxes on this day.

MLA Sunder Singh Thakur, Chief Minister’s Principal Adviser Media Naresh Chauhan, Additional Chief Secretary Onkar Chand Sharma, Secretary (Finance) Devesh Kumar, Engineer-in-Chief, PWD, NP Singh and Engineer-in-Chief, Jal Shakti Department, Anju Sharma attended the meeting.
