On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Mayor of the Mandi Municipal Corporation Virender Bhatt Sharma officially launched the “Mandi Darshan” mobile application and website. The launch event took place on Wednesday and marked a significant step towards digital tourism and smart city development in the region.

The ‘Mandi Darshan’ app aims to digitally showcase the historic, cultural and religious heritage of Mandi city to audiences across India and the globe. It has been specially designed to promote tourism while also serving as a comprehensive guide for local residents by providing easy access to city-related information.

This app is a commendable initiative under the Smart City vision, integrating modern technology with heritage conservation and public utility.

The ‘Mandi Darshan’ app was conceptualised and developed by talented students from Sardar Patel University, Mandi —Sahil Vatsy, Ashish Sharma, Mohit Thakur, Saurabh Rana and Bharat Prakash. Their efforts reflect a remarkable blend of technical innovation and social commitment, serving as an inspiration for youth-led development in the region.

The launch event was attended by several dignitaries including Councillors Alaknanda Handa, Neha Kumari, Nirmal Verma, Yashkant Kashyap, Nitin Bhatia and Sanjay Kumar.

Members of non-governmental organisations, along with municipal staff, also participated and applauded the initiative. This digital step forward marks a milestone for Mandi, enhancing civic life while inviting the world to experience the charm and legacy of the “Chhoti Kashi” — now just a click away through the ‘Mandi Darshan’ app.
