Political Advisor to CM Sunil Sharma Bittu, while addressing students at the annual function of Government Senior Secondary School, Tal, near here on Friday, said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was decorating the district with huge developmental projects to provide the best facilities to the people of his home district.

The CM had prioritised the education sector and wanted to improve the standard of education in the government schools of the state, he added.

He said the CM the given to the district a new bus stand (to be constructed at a cost of Rs 100 crore), a medical college, a cancer care centre, a nursing college and an antenatal hospital.

He had upgraded the municipal committee to a municipal corporation, Bittu added. Bittu said the school in Tal was started by the Congress government, and was also later upgraded to a GSSS by the Congress.

At the event, Bittu distributed bicycles provided by Canera Rebeco to meritorious students. Earlier, students showcased colourful a cultural programme and Principal Subhash Chand presented the annual report of the school.
