Built at a cost of Rs 3.92 crore, the modern facility is designed to provide residential training to elected representatives and officials involved in grassroots governance.

The DPRC building features a well-equipped classroom with a seating capacity of 45 trainees, a computer laboratory, furnished hostel rooms and a spacious dining hall. The centre aims to enhance skills, knowledge and administrative capabilities of PRI functionaries, ensuring more effective and accountable governance at the village level. It is expected that the establishment of the resource centre will mark a significant milestone in improving decentralised planning and decision-making in the district.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the staff quarters of the District Panchayat Office (DPO), Kangra Zila Parishad, to be constructed at Dharamshala. The residential complex, to be built at a cost of Rs 2.26 crore, will include six Type-II and two Type-I quarters, providing improved living facilities for departmental staff and strengthening administrative efficiency.
