Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today chaired a meeting to take stock of the preparations for the ceremony for the unveiling of a statue of former Chief Minister, late Virbhadra Singh, on The Ridge. He directed the officers concerned to make all necessary arrangements for the programme and security within the stipulated time. The statue is scheduled to be unveiled on the historic Ridge in Shimla on October 13.

The Chief Minister said that the state government would organise the event and AICC in-charge for Himachal Pradesh Rajni Patil along with senior Congress leaders would attend it. Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Shimla MLA Harish Janartha, Chief Minister's Principal Adviser (Media) Naresh Chauhan, HIMUDA Vice-Chairman Yashwant Chhajta, Secretary (GAD) Rajesh Sharma and Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap attended the meeting.

Earlier, while talking to mediapersons regarding a small tree located near the site of the statue that had been removed, Sukhu said that an inquiry would be conducted to find out the truth about the missing tree.
