The CM accused BJP leaders of obstructing state’s development, alleging they remained indifferent even during natural disasters. Addressing a public meeting at Barsar, Sukhu hit out at all seven BJP MPs for their silence on the issue of disaster relief funds from the Centre.

The CM charged that BJP attempted to topple the Congress government through “unfair means” but failed. Referring to the 2024 Assembly bypoll, he said two MLAs from the district, including the one from Barsar, betrayed public trust by switching sides. “People of Barsar made a grave mistake in the bypolls by defeating the Congress candidate. One has to pay dearly for decisions taken in emotion,” he remarked, adding that Barsar repeated Sujanpur’s 2017 mistake when Prem Kumar Dhumal lost.

Criticising the Centre’s Agniveer scheme, he said it has deprived youth of stable Army jobs. The CM announced that 800 posts in the Police Department would soon be filled to boost employment opportunities.
