“Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu trashed development works that I suggested for the constituency,” said BJP candidate Ashish Sharma. Addressing election meetings at various villages here today, he said the CM had done nothing either for the constituency or for the district during his 18-month tenure. Sharma said Sukhu ignored sentiments of people and dishonoured their representative in the Vidhan Sabha.

Besides levelling baseless allegations on the BJP and its candidate, Sukhu had nothing to count as an achievement, he added.

Sharma said the statements of the CM were bundle of lies and he was only busy in misleading people. “Last week the CM said that I had secured government contracts of over Rs 100 crore and now, the amount had increased to Rs 140 crore. The CM can take all the data from my office, but should only state facts,” Sharma added.

The BJP candidate said the CM didn’t give him time to meet after April 2023, adding that he wanted to develop Hamirpur as a model constituency, but the CM neglected his vision. He said that he suggested the construction of 18 link roads to villages that were facing connectivity issues, but the suggestion was also trashed by Sukhu.

Sharma urged people to vote for the BJP and elect him to the Vidhan Sabha to ensure that their demands were raised effectively. He added that the Sukhu-led government is counting its days and could fall because of the immature decisions of the CM.

The BJP candidate was accompanied by Anurag Thakur, former Education Minister Govind Thakur and MLA Randhir Sharma.
