Expressing concern over the increasing drug addiction among the youth in the state, state Congress president Pratibha Singh today said a state-wide campaign, involving administration and sections of society, should be launched to curb the growing menace.

“Due to the increasing drug addiction, many youths are dying every day. It has become a matter of great concern,” she said. She said chitta or other types of drugs had ruined thousands of families. “A collective effort is needed to root out this evil of drug addiction,” she said.

Praising the organisations who have announced rewards for people sharing information about the individuals involved in supplying drugs, Pratibha Singh urged all sections of society to assure full cooperation with the police and administration to eradicate the evil of drug abuse and save the future generation from the menace. She also praised the promptness of the police administration and said strict action should be taken against those involved in the illegal drug trade.
