Residents of the Panchrukhi region in Palampur, Kangra district, have expressed growing concern over the proposed four-lane road project, urging the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to issue a final notification on the road alignment between Parror and Padhar in Mandi district. The local community remains uncertain due to the NHAI conducting three surveys without clarifying which one would be adopted. This ambiguity has left residents in a difficult position as they are unable to make informed decisions about land use and development plans. Despite the fact that construction work has already commenced from Pathankot to Parror, the NHAI has yet to finalise the road alignment, further compounding the confusion and concern among locals. The lack of a definitive plan is creating a dilemma for the community, who are caught in a state of uncertainty regarding the future of their land and livelihoods.
