A two-day national conference on ‘Text and interpretation’ will be organised at Vallabh Government College, Mandi, in collaboration with the English Teachers’ Forum, Himachal Pradesh on March 5 and 6. Dr Rakesh Sharma, principal of the college, said the objective was to promote research and development activities in English literature and language. He said the conference would provide a platform to researchers, teachers and English students to share their ideas and research at the national level.

The principal said Prof Jaidev Memorial Award would be presented for the best paper out of the seven shortlisted ones. He said, “Abstracts from various parts of the country have been received. At least 26 research papers have been shortlisted for presentation, for which four parallel technical sessions will be conducted.”
