In a statement issued here today, Kashyap said the 182 outsource employees in the Himachal Pradesh University are fearing loss of their jobs as the process for new recruitment has been initiated. “The contract of these 182 employees, many of whom have been serving in the HPU for the last eight to 12 years, ended on September 30, 2025. Preference is not being given to these old outsource employees and their job period has been extended for only one month,” he said.
He said there is a lot of resentment among these outsource employees working in various departments. “The government must consider continuation of the services of these employees. I wonder what is the need to appoint new employees,” he said.
Kashyap also expressed concern over reduction in the Dearness Allowance (DA) announced by the Chief Minister for employees from four to three per cent. “The Chief Minister, who is responsible for pushing the state on the brink of bankruptcy, is depriving the employees of their legitimate dues,” he rued.
