Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur today said that the Congress government was directionless and had disappointed the people of the state. He added that the case of Chief Parliament Secretaries (CPSs) was in the Supreme Court and the directions of the court were acceptable to all.

He said that the High Court of Himachal Pradesh had clearly stated in its order that the appointment of CPSs was unconstitutional. He added, “Crores of rupees of government funds were spent on the appointments of the CPSs. Government employees are running from pillar to post for DA and pensioners are not getting pension on time.”

Anurag said that electricity prices were hiked twice and a surcharge was imposed on water and fuel. He added, “The Congress government is preparing to celebrate its two years’ term but Sukhu’s ministerial colleagues are not aware of it.”

He said that the government was neither able to live up to the public expectations nor had fulfilled its promises. He also raised the issues of ‘toilet tax’ and a CID investigation into the ‘samosa’ controversy.

He added that the court order to attach the Himachal Bhawan in a legal case proved that the Congress government had pushed the state in a financial crisis. He alleged that the government had no vision and was directionless.

Later, Anurag addressed a meeting of DISHA and directed officials of the district administration and heads of various departments to achieve the given targets in time. He said that the benefits of welfare schemes must reach people. He also went to see movie ‘Sabarmati The True Story’ along with mediapersons.
