Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today said that even after two years in power, the Congress government had nothing to list as its achievement. It was trying to take credit for the schemes launched by the previous BJP government in the state and the Central Government.

Thakur, while talking to mediapersons here after the Governor’s Address, said that the Congress government had nothing to tell even after two years in power. That is why it is lying even through the Governor’s Address. “The government mentioned all old schemes of our government and central schemes in the Governor’s Address but did not utter even one word of gratitude towards the Central Government,” he added.

He said that the state was facing a financial crisis and the elderly had not been provided pension for six months, which was unusual. “The government says that 69 health institutions in the state have been made model medical institutions and state-of-the-art MRI machines have also been installed there along with a team of experts. I am also an MLA and I have not seen any such institution in my Assembly constituency,” he added.

Thakur said the Congress government had made false claims of development in the Governor’s Address. He also countered the government’s claims that women had been provided Rs 1,500 financial assistance. “So far, only 30,000 women have been provided this amount while the number of eligible women in the state is 23 lakh. Today, more than 10 lakh applications of women are pending in government offices,” he added.
