Construction workers’ welfare board to organise awareness camps in Hamirpur

District Labour Welfare Officer Rashmi Thakur today said the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (HPBOCWB) would organise three awareness camps in the district from January 21. These awareness camps would be organised at Bijhri on January 21, Sujanpur on January 22 and Hamirpur on January 23. She said Nardev Kanwar, chairman of HPBOCWB, would preside over these camps while local Congress leaders and dignitaries of respective areas would also participate.

She said people would be made aware of the board’s various welfare schemes during the camps. Necessary home appliances and other items would also be distributed to the eligible workers on the occasion.

She added that the board provided various benefits to registered workers such as financial assistance to children for education from Rs 8,400 to Rs 1.2 lakh depending on the class and course; health assistance to patients; financial assistance of Rs 51,000 for daughter’s marriage; aid for construction of a house up to Rs 3 lakh; and pension schemes. She added that these awareness camps would be of great help to the workers as they could register with the board and get benefits of various schemes.
