Coop bank, Himuda sign pact to renovate, beautify bank buildings

In a significant move towards infrastructure enhancement, the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank (HPSCB) and the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (Himuda) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on construction, renovation and beautification of bank buildings across the state.

The MoU was signed by Shravan Manta, Managing Director of HPSCB, and Surendra Vashisht, Chief Executive Officer of Himuda, in the presence of Rajesh Dharmani, Minister for Town and Country Planning.

Describing the agreement as a landmark development, Devender Shyam, Chairman of the HPSCB, said the MoU marks a historic moment of collaboration between two key institutions. He emphasised that the partnership will focus on areas of mutual interest, with a special focus on renovating and strengthening the bank’s infrastructure.

“Many of our bank buildings are currently in a dilapidated condition and in urgent need of renovation. This partnership with Himuda will help us not only restore them but also improve their functionality and aesthetic appeal,” he added. The MoU is expected to streamline coordinated efforts in upgrading HPSCB’s physical infrastructure while aligning with broader goals of urban planning and sustainable development in Himachal.
