A team of the Vigilance, led by inspector Sanjay Kumar, caught a lady head constable Satya Devi, posted at Police Lines, Nahan, red-handedly while accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from Vidya Dutt, a resident of Nihog village in Nohradhar of Sirmaur, for getting her son recruited as a special police officer in the Police Department.

ADGP, Vigilance, Anurag Garg, said no such recruitment was being done in the department. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act had been registered against the head constable while further probe was under way. — TNS
