A national-level counter-terror and counter-hijack exercise will be conducted in Dharamsala on October 6 and 7. Kangra SP Shallini Agnihotri said the exercise was being conducted in collaboration with the National Security Guard (NSG).

The objective of the exercise is to effectively deal with any terror incidents in the district in future and to reduce loss to life and property. The exercise would be conducted in District Sessions Court complex, Kotwali Bazaar, HPCA Cricket Stadium, Namgyal Monastery, McLeodganj, Radisson Blue Resort, Dharamkot and McLeodganj, areas of Dharamsala, the SP said.

She further said the police, district administration and other important departments would participate in the exercise. The SP issued an appeal to general public against spreading any kind of rumours during the exercise and create an atmosphere of fear.
