Couple killed in Rohru mishap

A couple was killed after the car they were travelling in plunged into another link road in the Rohru subdivision of Shimla district.

The deceased have been identified as Rajesh Kumar and his wife Leela Devi, both residents of Ramteri village in Tikkar, Shimla district.

The accident occurred today when Kumar, who was driving the vehicle, reportedly lost control, causing the car to plunge into another link road. Locals noticed the incident and immediately alerted the police. A police team reached the spot and with the help of locals, rescued the injured couple. They were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Tikkar, where doctors declared them brought dead.

Police officials said a case has been registered. Education Minister Rohit Thakur directed the administration to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved family.
