The state recorded as many as eight Covid-related deaths in the last one week, with the positivity rate touching seven per cent. Hamirpur district recorded the highest positivity rate of 11 per cent, followed closely by Una (9.3 per cent) and Kangra (9.2 per cent).

Shimla district recorded the lowest positivity rate of 2.8 per cent. The rate of hospitalisation is 1.3 per cent.

On Monday, no death was reported even as the new cases went beyond 400 for the first time in a single day in the latest spurt in cases. With 422 new cases reported today and the recovery of 424 persons, the active case count is 1,762 in the state.

Meanwhile, the Health Department has started mock drills in health institutions across the state to check the Covid-preparedness in view of the rising number of cases.

On Monday, the mock drill was carried out at 224 health facilities across the state. The drill will be carried out tomorrow as well at healthcare facilities.
