The housing colony of the ESI Covid hospital, Katha, at Barotiwala was sanitised yesterday after a lab technician and his daughter tested Covid-19 positive on Monday evening.

Hospital staffers comprising medical and paramedical staff too had also been quarantined, said medical officer health, Solan, Dr NK Gupta.

Notably, this is the lone Covid hospital in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial cluster.

About 100 contacts of the duo have been identified from among the hospital as well as the housing colony residents while further contact tracing was underway.

The local authorities have also identified about 25 contacts of eight other Covid-positive patients who had tested positive last evening. All contacts have been quarantined.

Sub Divisional Magistrate, Nalagarh, Prashant Deshta said the ESI colony and specific area in ward number 4 where a Covid-positive patient was residing were being ring fenced after sanitisation.
