Shimla, September 7
CRPF and Himachal Police personnel are being deployed at actress Kangana Ranaut’s residence in Manali, where she is staying these days.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said today that due to concerns over Kangana’s safety, the DGP was asked to assess the threat to the actress. “It has now been decided that Himachal Police personnel will be deputed round the clock at her residence in Manali and if needed, they will accompany her, wherever she travels,” he added.
Thakur said that a communication received from the Union Home Ministry yesterday stated that a 11-member commando team of the CRPF, headed by an Assistant Commandant, was on its way to Manali for deployment at her house. “Kangana is Himachal’s daughter and we are very concerned about her safety. I am grateful to the Union Home Minister for providing the CRPF security cover to her,” he added. Former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar, too, has written to the Maharashtra Chief Minister to provide security to Kangana.
Since the outbreak of coronavirus, Kangana is staying at her Manali house, from where she has been giving interviews to prominent news channels. Though she belongs to Bhambla village, located on the border of Mandi and Hamirpur, she has made a house in Manali where she spends a lot of time.
She has launched an onslaught against Bollywood’s big and mighty following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and has received threats from Shiv Sena leaders.
Her parents, especially father Amardeep Singh Ranaut, had requested the Central Government to provide security to his daughter, considering the threats she was receiving. Her mother had got a special puja done at her native place a few days ago to ensure the safety of her daughter.
