A major fire broke out in the store room of Sohan Singh Saklani at Purani Mandi today, reportedly triggered by a sudden cylinder blast. The blaze caused property damage estimated in lakhs before being brought under control. Mandi Mayor Virender Bhatt rushed to the scene and personally assisted in firefighting efforts. Revenue officials have been tasked with assessing the full extent of the damage. While the exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation, early indications point to an accidental trigger. No casualties have been reported in the incident.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
