The Dalai Lama has expressed grief over the earthquake that struck Tibet today. The Central Tibetan Administration said as the distressing news of an earthquake that struck Dingri in Tibet this morning emerged, Tibetan spiritual leader, the 14th Dalai Lama, shared a message expressing profound sadness over the disaster that claimed several lives and left many more injured.

In the message, published on his official website, the Dalai Lama said, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the devastating earthquake that struck Tibet and the surrounding regions this morning. It has resulted in the tragic loss of many lives, numerous injuries and extensive destruction to property.”

“I offer my prayers for those who have lost their lives and extend my wishes for a swift recovery to all who have been injured,” the Dalai Lama said.
