The Chamera Power Station-I (CPS-I) is operating on the Ravi river at Khairi near Dalhousie in Chamba district and is generating 540 MW of power annually.

In an official release issued here yesterday, the CPS-I management has appealed to the general public and the residents living on the banks of Ravi river not to go near the riverbed and also not allow their cattle to go to the river banks. People are also advised not to cross the river during this period.

The CPS-I management or the NHPC would not be responsible for any damage caused to the life and property of any resident due to release of water.
