DAV Centenary Public School, Jawaharnagar, organised the ‘Vidya Aarambh Sanskaar’ — a sacred initiation ceremony marking the beginning of a child’s educational journey — on campus on Saturday. The event was celebrated with devotion and cultural fervour. The ceremony began with a traditional ‘havan’, performed in the presence of the school principal, Kuldeep Singh Guleria, staff members, parents and the newly admitted Nursery class students.

The chanting of Vedic mantras and the sacred fire created an atmosphere of spirituality and positivity, believed to bless the young learners as they embark on their academic path.

Addressing the gathering, the principal highlighted the importance of instilling moral values and cultural heritage from the very start of a child’s education. He also commended the active participation of parents and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to holistic education — integrating modern pedagogy with age-old traditions.

Parents appreciated the initiative and praised the school for creating a warm and encouraging environment for the children’s first day. Teachers and staff ensured the young students felt welcomed and supported as they took their first steps in formal education.
