A meeting, aimed at addressing various issues faced by members of the Ex-Services League, was held at district headquarters today under the aegis of District Sainik Welfare Department. Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal presided over the meeting.
The meeting saw participation from office-bearers and members of the league, Chamba chapter. During the meeting, the DC directed the Deputy Director of the department to escalate the matter of restarting the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) and ECHS facilities at the district headquarters to higher authorities.
The DC responded to the league members’ request for the initiation of a canteen facility by urging the completion of departmental formalities and forwarding the case concerning the provision of land for the canteen. He also instructed the District Employment Officer to send a list of post codes for various vacancies to be filled from the reserved quota for ex-servicemen.
The DC emphasised the need for special efforts by both the Deputy Director of Sainik Welfare’s office and members of the league to include all retired soldiers in the association to ensure that they benefit from various schemes. — OC
