Dheeraj Mahajan from Kranti, an NGO, which works for the animal rights, said the deer strayed into a private hotel in Khaniyara after it was being chased by stray dogs. It had also suffered injuries. He said the owners of the hotel provided shelter to the animal, following which the wildlife officials were informed about the presence of the deer. The injured deer was given medical treatment and later released into forest, he said.
