At a meeting held at Gram Panchayat Ludret, villagers and their elected representatives shared their positive experiences since the realignment and unanimously called for a dedicated Block Office in Haripur.
The panchayats involved in the shift include Nandpur Bhatoli, Ludret, Sakri, Bilaspur, Guler, Gathutar, Masroor, Bhatehar, Dhangarh and Dhar. Locals noted a visible acceleration in development works since joining the Dehra block.
“Earlier, our voices were lost. Now aligned with Dehra, we’re seeing action on the ground,” said Thakurdas, Pradhan of Gathutar. “Our panchayat is witnessing real development, and we’re grateful for this decision.”
BDC member Manjit Singh from Sakri highlighted that nearly Rs 550 crore worth of development projects are currently underway in the Dehra Block. “This momentum must be channelled through a dedicated Block Office in Haripur for improved accessibility and administration,” he said.
Sher Singh, BDC member from Guler, recalled the “step-motherly treatment” under Nagrota Surian. “Our issues went unheard for years. Today, we feel represented.” The idea of a Haripur block is gaining traction not only for practical reasons but also as a matter of regional pride. Speakers stressed that the proximity of these Panchayats to Haripur makes it an ideal administrative hub. A local Block Office would minimise delays.
