JICA Forestry Project has gifted threshing machines to residents of Demul village, located in Lahaul and Spiti district.The residents of Demul village had been using mules to thresh their barley crop.

Following a request from the villagers, the project donated two threshing machines to the villagers. The villagers expressed their gratitude to JICA Chief Project Director Sameer Rastogi and biodiversity expert SK Kapta for solving their longstanding problem.

In May, Rastogi, along with his team, had visited Demul village and the residents had put in their request for threshing machines during the visit.
