State Congress president Pratibha Singh has expressed anger over the US deporting Indians in handcuffs, calling it inhuman and an insult to the country. “It cannot be tolerated, so the Congress is protesting against it across the country,” she said.

She said the Indian Government should take cognizance of the matter and lodge a strong protest with the US. “India should have sent its own aircraft to bring back its citizens the way Cambodia brought did in a respectful manner. The unfortunate incident makes it clear that the BJP government is not concerned about the prestige of the country and its citizens,” she added.

Meanwhile, the Congress, led by national president of the Indian Youth Congress Uday Bhanu Chib, took out a march from the Congress headquarters to the Raj Bhawan and submitted a memorandum to the Governor to protest the deportation of the Indians in handcuffs and the failure of the Central government to prevent it.
