Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, the 34th Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), visited the NCC Group Headquarters in Shimla today, highlighting the organisation’s commitment to fostering youth leadership and national service. During his visit, he received briefings on training matters and discussed the expansion of NCC activities in the region, assuring full support for the training of cadets.

In his address to the cadets, General Singh emphasised the core values of discipline, integrity, and resilience instilled by the NCC. He encouraged the cadets to take on leadership roles and serve as ambassadors of positive change in their communities.

General Singh also met with Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, who commended the NCC’s initiatives and underscored the importance of instilling patriotism and civic duty in the youth. They discussed the potential inclusion of NCC as an elective subject in colleges.

Additionally, Lieutenant General Singh held discussions with Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command. Their conversation focused on enhancing training programmes and strengthening collaboration between the NCC and the Indian Army, including plans to connect NCC cadets with premier training institutions like the Indian Military Academy for an immersive military experience.
