Dharampur MLA holds ‘Vidhayak Aapke Dwar’

Dharampur MLA Chander Shekhar interacted with residents under the state government’s outreach initiative ‘Vidhayak Aapke Dwar’. The event was organised across Gram Panchayats Darwad (Chatraena, Darwad) and Gharwasda (Gharwasda, Garli) in the Dharampur assembly constituency of Mandi district, where the MLA listened to residents’ concerns and directed officials to take action for their resolution.

Addressing the gatherings, Chander Shekhar said the government prioritised solving people’s fundamental problems — electricity, water, roads and healthcare. He said the ‘Vidhayak Aapke Dwar’ programme provides a platform for citizens to present their problems and demands directly to elected representatives for quick redressal.

During the programme, several residents raised problems related to infrastructure, irrigation and employment. The MLA instructed officials concerned from various departments to ensure timely action on all matters brought to their notice.

In a series of development announcements, the MLA declared financial aid and new projects for the area, including Rs 3 lakh for the construction of a badminton court for Chatraena Yuvak Mandal, Rs 3 lakh for a link road to Reedi village, Rs 3 lakh for the Darwad playground and Rs 30 lakh for ten local roads in Darwad Panchayat. He said construction of irrigation drains under the Chatraena Ropa irrigation scheme and link road projects for Sadyal and Reedi villages would also begin soon.

The highlight of the announcements was the Garli-Sahan Bridge, estimated to cost Rs 4.5 crore, which would improve connectivity to Kamlah temple and nearby areas. The MLA assured residents adequate funding was being put in for drinking water projects in the region.
