Diksha Tanwar and Sachin Yadav were declared the best athletes of the year at ‘Medi-Olympics’, the annual sports event held at Maharishi Markandeshwar University (MMU). Registrar Ajay Singal said the festival was followed by an award distribution ceremony. Students, trainees, teachers and staff of all departments enthusiastically took part in various sports competitions — cricket, football, badminton, chess, etc. Chancellor SS Minhas said participation in sports encouraged mental and physical development.

Sports Committee chairman Sanjeev Uppal said MMU, Solan, aimed to prepare future leaders who were not only skilled in their fields but also possessed sportsmanship and leadership qualities.
