Dinesh Saklani has been elected the District Bar Association, Mandi, president. The elections for the body were held here yesterday. Deshmitar Thakur was named the vice-president, while Ankur Deep was elected general secretary and Gaurav Rana deputy secretary.

Voting commenced at around 10.30 am, and the election committee announced the results after the counting process was completed.

According to election coordinators Hemant Kapoor, Khub Ram Sharma and Lokesh Kapoor, a total of 364 votes were cast on the day of the election, along with 44 postal ballots submitted the previous evening, bringing the total to 408 votes.

Dinesh Saklani received 152 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Bhanwar Bhardwaj, who garnered 127 votes, and Dinesh Sharma, who got 120 votes, winning by a margin of 25 votes. For the vice-president post, Deshmitar Thakur won with 282 votes against opponent Yogita Chauhan, who received 117 votes, resulting in a 165-vote victory.

Ankur Deep bagged the general secretary position garnering 172 votes, narrowly beating Manveer Singh Pathania (164 votes) by just 8 votes. Gaurav Rana secured the deputy secretary role with 229 votes over Yog Raj’s 171 votes, winning by 58 votes.

Additionally, Ajay Sharma and Chander Rekha were elected unopposed as treasurer and librarian, respectively.

The election coordinators thanked the committee members and voters for their support in conducting a successful election.
