Disaster management awareness vehicle flagged off

Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana flagged off the Disaster Management and Mitigation Awareness Vehicle today to educate rural communities in Shimla district. The vehicle will visit various areas, including Shoghi and Naldehra on March 18, Kufri and Theog on March 19, Kotkhai on March 20, Kharapathar and Hatkoti on March 21, Rohru and Samarkot on March 22, and Bahli, Taklech and Jeori on March 23-24.

Later, ADM Rana chaired a review meeting on disaster mitigation proposals. She directed implementing agencies to take necessary action on submitted proposals and reviewed the progress of ongoing construction works under the disaster management system. The initiative aims to enhance awareness and preparedness in vulnerable areas, ensuring communities are better equipped to handle disasters effectively.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
