Day after Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) contract workers went on a strike against the dismissal of 132 outsourced employees; the hospital administration today has reinstated all workers. As a result, the workers have decided to end their strike and to resume their services as normal.

The outsourced employees, including cleaners, ward attendants, security personnel, ECG staff, mess workers, laundry employees, data entry operators, and operation theater assistants went on strike in protest against the hospital administration after it laid off 132 outsource employees on December 31. As a result, patients visiting had to face lots of inconveniences as the healthcare services.
