As many as 400 coronavirus rapid testing kits received from the government are being used to screen suspected patients in the district, said Harikesh Meena, District Magistrate.

He said that the standard operating procedure was being followed while taking samples with these kits. The Department of Biomedical Science of Dr Radhakrishanan Medical College and Hospital was entrusted with the responsibility of testing. He added that more restrictions on the movement of persons and vehicles were imposed in the Covid hotspots, including in containment and buffer zones.

So far, 11 wards of Hamirpur town, gram panchayats of Bajuri, Daruhi, Anu, Jolsappar, Rangar and Boni are in the containment zones while gram panchayats of Bassi Jhaniyara, Matti Tihra, Balh, Neri, Sarakar, Swahal, Duggha, Sasan, Rail, Balduhak, Snahi, and Kandola Plassi are in the buffer zones.
