In a momentous and unprecedented event, Chalda Mahasu Maharaj, the revered deity of millions, is set to enter Himachal Pradesh for the first time in history. For centuries, Mahasu Devta has remained within Uttarakhand, but now, for the first time ever, he will cross the Tons river, the natural boundary between Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, and make his divine presence felt in the Shillai region of Sirmaur district. This historic moment has filled devotees with boundless joy and deep devotion, as they prepare to welcome their beloved deity with grand celebrations.

The people of Pashmi village in Shillai have left no stone unturned in ensuring that Mahasu Devta receives a grand and sacred welcome. In honour of his arrival, they have built a magnificent temple in traditional Himachali architectural style, crafted with intricate wooden carvings that showcase the region’s rich heritage. This temple stands as a symbol of unwavering faith and devotion, constructed entirely through the contributions and selfless efforts of the local villagers.

Nitin Chauhan, a dedicated member and sevadar of the Pashmi temple committee, shared that every resident of Shillai and its surrounding areas has donated money, time, and effort to make this holy temple a reality. He expressed gratitude, calling it a blessing that, for the first time in history, Mahasu Devta will step into Himachal Pradesh after crossing the Tons river.

He further assured that all preparations have been completed to facilitate the thousands of devotees who will accompany Mahasu Maharaj on this sacred journey. The temple committee has made arrangements to provide free food through a 24/7 langar, which will continue uninterrupted for an entire year during Mahasu Devta’s stay. All services and arrangements will be managed voluntarily by the local people, solely through donations and collective contributions, reflecting the immense faith and devotion of the community.

The grand Pran Pratistha (consecration) and Shikhar Poojan of the newly built temple will take place on April 13, marking the beginning of a new spiritual chapter for the region. This sacred event will witness large-scale Vedic rituals, traditional ceremonies, and prayers, drawing thousands of devotees from across Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and beyond.
