Naik Rajeev Singh, an ultra-runner and proud soldier of the 19 Dogra Battalion, clinched the silver medal in the Surya Spiti Ultra Marathon-Kunzum Challenge, a gruelling 77 km high-altitude race organised by the Indian Army.

The second edition of the event began at the formidable Kunzum Pass (15,000 ft) and concluded at Kaza, testing participants’ endurance across some of the toughest terrains in the Himalayas. Having also competed in the inaugural edition last year, Naik Rajeev Singh bettered his performance this year with a significantly improved race time.

The medal was presented by Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-inC, Central Command, who lauded Singh’s remarkable achievement.
