Chamba Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Priyanshu Khati announced on Monday that, in accordance with the notification issued by the Himachal Pradesh State Election Commission, a draft proposal for the delimitation of wards under Chamba Nagar Parishad has been published.

Residents of the municipal area have been invited to submit objections or suggestions regarding the draft delimitation by June 9. These submissions will be reviewed and addressed by the Deputy Commissioner by June 16.

The SDM further stated that any appeals against the DC’s decisions can be filed within seven days of the order. Such appeals will be resolved by the Divisional Commissioner within five days of filing.

The final ward delimitation order is expected to be issued by or before July 1.

Following this, the reservation of seats will be determined on July 11 and the final reservation notification will be sent to the State Election Commission by July 15.

This process is part of the official preparations for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) elections in Himachal Pradesh.
