Solan, May 1

A 54-year-old truck driver from Uttarakhand, who had come here to deliver glucose consignment at a Kala Amb-based industrial unit on April 19, has tested Covid-positive in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. He along with his helper had started from Rudrapur in Uttarakhand on April 18 and reached Kala Amb via Muzaffarnagar the next day.

He was tested Covid-positive on April 29. After getting the information last evening, the Sirmaur district administration immediately swung into action. The driver stayed here till April 21 and came in contact with seven persons.

SP, Sirmaur, Ajay Krishan Sharma said they had located the seven primary contacts of the truck driver and the helper. They were the company’s storekeeper, driver and five labourers, who had unloaded the truck. Their samples had been taken and all of them had been quarantined.

As of now, two Covid-positive cases have been reported in Sirmaur.
