During the investigation, Basudhir had stated that he had bought heroin from Ifenanyi Frank, a Nigerian national, from Dwarka in Delhi. The SIU had arrested Frank from Uttam Nagar and had recovered 14.3-gm heroin from his possession.

After completing the investigation in the case, a charge-sheet was filed against both accused and they were presented in the court.

The Nigerian national was later released on a bail bond from the High Court, but he failed to appear before the court despite being summoned multiple times following which the court declared him a proclaimed offender.

The Kandaghat police had been searching for him and they learnt that the accused was arrested by the Delhi Police and lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

The local police obtained a production warrant from the court concerned for his arrest and arrested him from Tihar Jail last evening.

Further probe was under way, the SP said.
