A team of the Nurpur police arrested Jajj Singh, a resident of Avdal under Majitha police station in Amritsar district. The accused was a habitual drug peddler and an inter-state drug smuggler, who was providing narcotics to peddlers in Fatehpur subdivision.
SP, Nurpur, Ashok Ratan said that the police team had intercepted a car at a naka at Kandwal on October 16 last year. “During search, the police recovered 109.52 gram of heroin from car occupants Ravi Kumar and his wife Shilpa, residents of Jhajwan in Fatehpur subdivision,” he added.
The SP said during investigation, it was found that more persons were involved in inter-state drug smuggling.
