To improve the water supply infrastructure in rural areas, Deputy Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Vinay Kumar inaugurated a lift water supply scheme in Arlu village of the Bhaton-Bhujond gram panchayat in his home Assembly constituency Renuka Ji today. Implemented by the Jal Shakti Department, the project was constructed at a cost of Rs 68.25 lakh and will benefit 1,003 residents of Arlu and Gatlog villages.

Addressing the gathering, Vinay Kumar emphasised the importance of the project for the local community, noting that the lift water supply scheme would ensure access to clean drinking water for the villagers. He praised the efforts of the Jal Shakti Department and assured the people that the government remained committed to furthering development across the region.

The Deputy Speaker was honoured with a traditional shawl and cap by local women’s groups, including the Mahila Mandal from Gatlog and the SC Basti Mahila Mandal as a gesture of appreciation for his leadership and contributions.

He also inaugurated a newly constructed community centre at the Bhaton-Bhujond Panchayat Bhavan, built at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. During his address, he highlighted the government’s commitment to development and ensuring that progress is swift, clean and impactful.

He highlighted the ongoing road infrastructure projects, including the tender for the road from Sangrah to Debardhat, which is currently under progress. Additionally, the road from Debardhat to Ser-Tandula has been prioritised and the lift water supply scheme from Debra khud will also be given precedence. The Deputy Speaker assured the community that staff for the local agriculture centre and health sub-centre would also be appointed soon.
