Education Minister Rohit Thakur inaugurated development projects worth Rs 19 crore in the Kotkhai area of the district today. He inaugurated lift drinking water projects for Hulli, Kuffar, Kanlog villages and adjoining areas in Gumma gram panchayat constructed at a cost of Rs 2.86 crore and another at Pragati Nagar, Gumma, set up for Rs 44.18 lakh. He also inaugurated a community health centre, upgraded from a primary health centre, at Gumma.

In the Ubadesh area of Kotkhai tehsil, the minister inaugurated a lift irrigation scheme (Phase-1) in Kalbog panchayat built at a cost of Rs 7.40 crore. The project would fulfil irrigation needs of the villagers of Kalbog panchayat.

The minister, while addressing a public meeting at Kalbog panchayat, said that he was committed to making the Jubbal-Kotkhai Assembly constituency the most advanced area of ??the state. He added that a fire station had been approved for the Ubadesh area. The posts of doctor, dentist and paramedical staff at the community health centre at Gumma would be filled soon.
