All private and government educational institutions in Sirmaur district will remain closed on August 30 following warning of heavy to very
heavy rain and potential risk to life and public safety.

All anganwadis and vocational institutes will also remain closed as per the orders issued by the deputy commissioner, invoking Section 30 of the Disaster Management Act.
Since continuous rains lashing the district have been causing landslides and disruption to life it can compromise the safety of students commuting to schools, especially in rural and hilly areas, stated the order issued by DC Priyanka Verma.
The teachers and administrative staff of these institutions will, however, report for duty.
